Find your future with us.The Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), Space and Launch Division, isA' seeking an Associate Spacecraft Operations and Flight Safety Engineer (Level 2) to joinA' our team in Springfield, VA or Colorado Springs, CO. The Space and Launch Team creates the next generation products and services for the BDS business unit. We work with proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space.A' Our teamA' focuses on rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of mission-focused technologies for a variety of customers.A' Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.Position Overview:The Associate Spacecraft Operations and Flight Safety Engineer will be a part of a high-performing team that are immersed in high intensity projects.A' As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity serve as a focal point for ensuring spacecraft safety of flight and coordination between contractor and government operations teams on a rotating 24/7 shift. This role will support the spacecraft ground station operations, and will be responsible for the mission planning or command and control responsibilities for all aspects of spacecraft operations and maintenance.Position Responsibilities:Provide daily oversight of spacecraft safety of flight to include environmental and man-made threats.Perform, document, disseminate, and maintain vulnerability assessments.Facilitate cross-site technical issues.Support operations and/or customer requests for new missions.Support contingency command and control facilities.Provide daily threat briefings to management and customers.Coordinate assessments with acquisition, operations, and intelligence teammates.Work Authorization:This position requires an active TS/SCI US Security Clearance with CI Polygraph. (A US Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.).Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.Willingness to work a rotating shift to include weekends and holidays.Are you able to successfully complete the Space Vehicle Certification program which requires a combination of self-study and on-the-job (OJT) training.Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Prior military service or experience in national space programs.Experience with systems engineering principles.Spacecraft orbit knowledge, coursework or experience.Typical Education/Experience:A' Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (eg Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (eg Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation:A' This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
