Applied Research Associates, Inc. is seeking a mid-level Systems or Nuclear Engineer for our Arlington, VA office. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing engineering designs and technical services on a variety of projects. The successful candidate will perform a range of engineering functions, including radiation detection system optimization, technical consulting, conceptual design, cost estimation, and obtaining construction bids. This individual should possess working knowledge of subsystems and system integration, optimization, process flow & control, test & evaluation and life cycle management. The ideal candidate will be able to optimize a series of radiation detectors for maximum detection probability in minimal time. The candidate must have a BS in Systems Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or equivalent and five to seven years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience are necessary. Must be able to obtain a US government security clearance, US citizenship required. Must upload a copy of your transcripts with your resume. Unofficialtranscripts will be accepted. What youll do as an Engineer Provide engineering expertise to complex, inter-disciplinary technical solutions Serve as the project integrator with other engineers and scientists Engineer Position Requirements BS in Systems Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or closely related field with 5-7 years experience; higher education may be substitute for some experience Radiation detection experience Ability to work across a matrixed organization on multiple projects Contribute engineering analysis to multi-discipline solutions for complex problems Must be able to obtain a US government security clearance, which includes US citizenship.
