Assumes the responsibilities of the Director in their absence. Builds strong referral basis with physicians and facilitates awareness of services in the community through delivery of quality services. Responsible for directing the daily in-patient operations of the Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Language Departments, including compliance with: licensure and certification requirements; corporate and hospital policies and procedures; JCAHO standards; federal, state, and professional standards of care. Assumes the role of a leader in planning, directing, and managing the departments and staff to assure quality service on a daily basis. Responsible for administering the operating and capital budgets, promoting teamwork with physicians and all health care providers, promoting internal and external customer satisfaction, and for appropriate resource management. Provides direct patient care when needed. Serves as a resource and role model for departmental staff. Delegates responsibilities as permitted by law.Pay & Benefits:In addition to salary, the benefit package includes paid major holidays, vacation/sick time, health & dental insurance, and 401(k) Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Health Science preferred5 years of Clinical Exoerience required2 years of Management Experience in RehabilitationLicensed as Physical Therapist, or Occupational Therapist, or Speech Language Pathologist by the Virginia Department of Health Professions required Responsibilities: Functions as Department Head and is directly responsible for the overall organization and function of the Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech-Language Pathology SectionsAssures quality of care and services by adhering to industry standards and measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and benchmarks established by the organization.Identifies potential process improvement deficiencies and actively participates in resolution through communication and education of staff. Includes staff in establishing unit goals. Shares accountability with staff for meeting goals.Plans and facilitates trainings or programs to meet the educational needs of staff, including orientation, in-services, or education requirements. Evaluates equipment and supplies to provide optimum service at minimum cost.
