Manager, Cloud, Compute & Storage Operations

George Mason University, Information Technology Services (ITS), located on the Fairfax, Va., campus, invites applications for a Manager of Cloud, Compute & Storage Operations within the Enterprise Infrastructure Services, Cloud, Compute & Storage Operations (CCSO) team. Responsibilities: The Manager, Cloud, Compute & Storage Operations reports to the Executive Director, Enterprise Infrastructure Services. This position is responsible for fostering a positive culture of collaboration, customer service, and continuous improvement to deliver the best possible customer experience to the university community. * CCSO is responsible for ensuring the availability of all university cloud, compute, and storage services; * CCSO maintains expertise in on-premise and cloud compute, storage and virtualization technologies and commercial and open-source operating systems to support applications at enterprise scale; * This position is responsible for the effectiveness of CCSO, managing the focus of the team, development of its staff, and ensuring responsiveness to university needs in an ever-changing technology environment.

Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in a technology, business, or management-related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience; * Supervisory, project management, or other team leadership experience; * Knowledge of contemporary compute, storage, and virtualization technologies and services; * Basic Microsoft Windows server, Linux server, and/or VMWare system administration skills; * Ability to lead, motivate and manage technical staff; * Ability to effectively prioritize team focus and work; * Must be eligible to work in secure computing environments that process and store restricted data, including information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).

Preferred Qualifications: * Significant experience in a supervisory role with budget authority; * Experience working in a higher-education environment; * Management and/or leadership training; * Familiarity with formal project management methods.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
