Responsibilities

  • Technical Project Management. Serves as senior technical specialist within the assigned organization providing technical project management and assistance in the planning, delivery, and management of customer IT support services.
  • Customer Service Support. Servers as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on local infrastructure, network and system administration, desktop hardware, software, peripherals and communication devices.
  • Provides Global Service Center (GSC) support to maintain service level objectives; maintains up to date knowledge of Enterprise system and network status to facilitate effective resolution to customer issues.
  • Life Cycle Management (LCM). Manages the LCM program within the assigned organization.
  • Developing hardware requirements, plans and schedules for the deployment, distribution, installation, removal and disposal of new, modified and legacy infrastructure, hardware, operating systems, and software.
  • Property Custodian. Serves as the property custodian for the assigned organization managing all property transactions including hand receipts, equipment transfers, and annual physical inventories.
  • Performs Information Assurance Technical Level II duties. Assurance posture.
  • Coordinates the day-to-day and emergency infrastructure, system, desktop and information assurance problems.
  • Serves as the local SME to develop, test and deploy specific packages, patches, and upgrades to maintain the Enterprise's Information.

Qualifications

To qualify for an IT Specialist (NETWORK/CUSTSPT) position, your resume and supporting documentation must support:

A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: .
  • Consulting with customers to identify requirements/develop solutions/deliver products and services.
  • Applying IT principles, methods, and best business practices to provide guidance and operational/technical end-user computer support.
  • Managing an IT life cycle management program to maintain the most current hardware and software within an Enterprise.
  • Troubleshooting/performing system diagnostics to resolve complex IT issues, recover failed systems, and maintain the Information Assurance posture.
B. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

  • 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
