Responsibilities

  • As an Information Technology Specialist, you will independently perform one of the following functions:
  • 1. Cloud (IaaS)Engineer/Administration - Design, engineer and implement solutions in Cloud IaaS platforms.
  • 2. Data Architect- Develop proposals and strategies for solving business data (structure and unstructured) management problems with enterprise approach;
  • research emerging technology around data systems for business and scientific computing, develop and implement business intelligence/ data warehousing/ data lakes solutions in cloud environment.
  • 3. DevOps/Solutions Architect- Fulfill customer SaaS and PaaS solutions/platforms support request, troubleshoot incidents and provide recommendation on a variety of SaaS, PaaS offerings. Design, implement and utilize DevOps tools and practice.
  • 4. Cloud (PaaS / SaaS) Engineer/Administrator -Develop, deploy and support custom application development for SaaS and PaaS solutions/
  • platforms like Appian, Salesforce and ServiceNow and build APIs for application and system integration for large enterprise.
  • 5. VoIP Systems and Network Administration- Evaluate, organize, plan, develop, implement and support VoIP Network and Systems Operations; Administration of infrastructure and application technologies;
  • host of enterprise-class systems and storage area networks.

Qualifications

The position of Information Technology Specialist falls under the 2210 occupational series. To qualify for this position at grade GS-13, you must meet the following:

Basic Requirements

Qualifying on the basis of experience, your experience must be Information Technology related and it must demonstrate each of the four competencies listed below. Your level of proficiency for each competency will be assessed based on your responses to the online assessments and additional steps in the hiring process (e.g., interview).

1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications
Specialized Experience. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
  • You must possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service that includes experience as an Information Technology Professional independently performing assignments related to information systems in one of the following areas: (1) Cloud (IaaS)Engineer/Administration (2) Data Architect (3) DevOps/Solutions Architect (4) Cloud (PaaS / SaaS) Engineer/Administrator and/or (5) Systems and Network Administration.
