Overview: This position serves as the engineering interface between the presales team and delivery team, reviewing functional system descriptions (Proposal & Scope of Work) to identify any design gaps for RFIs before creating system schematics, wiring diagrams, rack elevations, RCPs, and the Bill of Materials. Production Engineering is the cornerstone of the design process and the first step in quality assurance to verify the proposed solutions meets the client requirements before creating the engineering collateral that drives procurement, rack fabrication, programming, field installation, and test acceptance. Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTranslate customer requirements into functional system designsDevelop engineering and architectural (RCP/Floor Plan) drawings and calculationsReview pre-construction design and documentationAssist with technical design, pricing and identify any logistical challengesGenerate functional system drawings and rack elevationsIdentify all cabling and miscellaneous material needsDesign wall plates and overlaysProvide material and labor estimates for change orders, when requiredProvide engineering support to project installation team when neededProject Manager liaison for engineering inquiresMeet with vendors/prospective vendors to help evaluate productsPost sales project consultationTECHNICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIESBroad knowledge of AV Systemsengineering and/or design experience.Experienced with creating AutoCAD system and MS Office proficiency .Knowledge of AV over IP technology and topologies.Ability to diagnose and solve complex system problemsAdvanced computer skills as required for the design and configuration of AV equipmentAbility to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlinesMust maintain a neat and organized work area SOFT SKILLS REQUIREDHighly organized, and efficient with personal time managementExcellent intrapersonal skills for client communication and senior management Proactive and results-orientedExcellent communication skills (written & oral).Dependable and on timeCustomer service focusDesire for continuously improvement at a personal level. Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skillsFast pace, dynamic environment, flexibility for change Qualifications: EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION5+ years of AV system engineering in a similar role.3+ Years of proficiency with AutoCAD (Current version).3+ Years of architectural design work supporting AV.Demonstrated proficiency in the integration of AV, VTC, and related technologies.Above average proficiency in MS Office for reporting and documentation of activities.OEM Vendor certifications (Crestron, AMX, Extron, Biamp, Planar, etc.)HS Diploma, Community College or Technical School Graduate (or work experience equivalent)CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D (preferred, but not required)WORKING ENVIRONMENTTravel may be required in MD-DC-VA Metro area.Able to work independently with minimal supervision.US Citizenship.
