Responsibilities: Using the curriculum, student interest, assessment data and anecdotal data, works with teachers, specialists, and school leaders to support and/or accelerate student learning, content mastery, and skill acquisition.Uses literacy, numeracy and social-emotional development expertise to support the varying needs of students, including students with special needs, in all developmentally appropriate ways. Provides in-person classroom assistance to teachers and/or assists a virtual teacher with conducting classroom activitiesExplicitly instructs students in differentiated small groups to support academic skill acquisition.Works in concert with their colleagues to collect informal and formal data of students to assist with grouping and individualized support plans;Collaborates with grade level teams to diagnose and create individual and group learning plans;Provides in-person classroom assistance to teachers or assisting a virtual teacher with conducting classroom activities;Actively plan with fellow teachers to ensure schedule, cycles of opportunities, and student groupings are scoped out in daily and weekly intervals;Works one-on-one with students for intensive tutoring, credit recovery, and academic support;Operates technology to include cameras, learning platforms, and learning tools;Helps maintain order and discipline and assists in managing the behavior of students;Provides supervision throughout the school day including in the classroom, halls, lunch, recess, and specials;Performs administrative and non instructional duties, such as keeping daily attendance; and ensures all CDC/safety protocols and procedures (eg, fire drills) are implemented and followed. Qualifications: Bachelors degree from an accredited universityExcellent verbal and written communication skillsSuccessful completion of the Praxis II ExamOne year of teaching experience and results demonstrating high student achievement and significant growthExperience working with school age children;Must be comfortable with basic technology equipment/tools;Knowledge of and ability to ensure all CDC/safety protocols and procedures are implemented and followed;Strong interpersonal skills, able to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents and the communityExcellent verbal and written communication skills;Commitment to teaching students from a minority and/or lower socioeconomic background required;Urban teaching experience preferred
