Position Description: Serco is looking for a talented HR Communications Specialist in support of the Human Resources organization. This position reports to the Director of Employee Experience and is located in Herndon, Virginia.Primary areas of responsibility include developing and writing compelling content in support of HR initiatives, organizational change, engagement initiatives, new HR technologies, retention strategies, and diversity and inclusion initiatives, reaching Serco employees in multiple offices, client sites, and countries. You will have the ability to become a trusted advisor to all areas of HR, such as Compensation, Benefits, HRIS, Talent Acquisition and Learning & Development. In this role you will:Research, write, and create internal employee communications that deliver against Sercos goals of engaging, inspiring and empowering employees and managers. This includes creating and posting HR content on internal SharePoint and web sites, developing flyers and other marketing materials, writing emails and newsletters to be disseminated company-wide, producing videos, creating presentations and toolkits, and writing articles.Partner and work closely with Sercos Corporate Communications team to create and implement communications strategies and plans to effectively engage employees on and offsite to raise awareness of HR initiatives, programs, and policies. The goal of this position is to enhance the employee experience by driving and increasing employee knowledge and engagement through compelling, effective, and targeted communications.Assist in HR change management efforts to educate and drive adoption of new systems and initiatives.Interface regularly with senior HR staff on communication strategies, programs, and messages.Be fully accountable for the accuracy and quality control of all communications.Be knowledgeable of Serco HR practices and programs to effectively tell the story to employees.Maintain a consistent employment brand and corporate image throughout all marketing and communications avenues.Measure, analyze, review and report marketing metrics and results to determine effectiveness of communications to help drive decisions.Assist with Sercos Diversity & Inclusion Program initiatives, Employee Resource Groups and events through regular internal communications and Sercos social media channels. Qualifications: To be successfulin this role you will have:Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent, and at least five years of related experience.Must have strong written and verbal communications skills and proven track record in various writing styles; a solid command of grammar, style, proofreading and editing techniques a must. Writing samples must be provided by all candidates who are selected to interview for this position. Ability to translate complex topics and issues into digestible and effective messages.Experience in designing, developing, and coordinating email marketing campaigns.Candidates must demonstrate the ability to think critically to resolve problems with creative and effective solutions, and also demonstrate initiative and innovation in their work and prove to be results-oriented.Must be able to develop and maintain relationships within the organization to become a trusted adviser.Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word.Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work independently.Must have high standards and be committed to delivering high quality communications.Comfortable with a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
