ACT I has been providing solutions for high profile defense programs such as the F-35 since 1998, and offers competitive salaries and very comprehensive benefits packages. #ACTIinAction Overview / Job Responsibilities:: ACT I is currently seeking a software engineer with experience working on Department of Defense programs to support the F-35 Lightning II Joint Program Office (F-35 JPO). The F-35 Program) is a joint, multi-national program and is the Department of Defense's (DoD) focal point for defining affordable next generation strike aircraft weapon systems among the USAF, USN, USMC, and United States allies composed of seven cooperative international partners: the United Kingdom, Italy, Netherlands, Canada, Australia, Denmark, Norway as well as Israel, Korea, Belgium, Poland, Singapore, and Japan. The programs objective is to develop, produce, deploy, and sustain a family of highly common and affordable 5th Generation strike fighter aircraft that meets the operational needs of the USAF, USN, USMC, and international services.This position will have primary responsibility to support the development and fielding capabilities that improve the effectiveness of the F-35. This position will work closely with the F-35 Chief Information Officer. The position requires a Secret clearance with eligibility for SAR. Minimum Qualifications:: Education and ExperienceBS. Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Software EngineeringKey Responsibilities:Provide F-35 software development leadership and oversight to integrate and sustain F35 capability improvements At least 6 years of software engineering experienceExperience with Agile Software DevelopmentExperience/familiarity with DevSecOps, JIRA, and Confluence.Experience with Object Oriented design and analysis using UMLFamiliarity with DoD software quality / performance metrics.Ability to facilitate team training in use of software analytic tools per Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute methodology / standards Experience with the integration of on-board sensorsUnderstanding development and maturation techniques for algorithms and data linksKnowledge of weapon functionality and interface and embedded operation softwareTrained in the use of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) as well as experience using EVMS Desired Qualifications:: Have experience with Agile Software Development, Cloud Migration, and the integration of aircraft subsystems to deliver combat capabilitiesDemonstrate an ability to thrive in a high paced team environment and the ability to work independently while prioritizing and supporting multiple tasks Additional Information:: DisclaimerThe above information on this description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
