Summary

Bring your talents to the MIL Corporation in Charleston, SC! The MIL Corporation seeks a Business Analyst to support a Federal Government client. We need your outstanding analytical skills to review and accept new software, review external systems changes to ensure continued functionality and reporting, and provide systems maintenance.

Responsibilities
  • Provide project management to process improvement initiatives. Ensure QMS documents are updated, approved, and published in a timely manner. Ensure staff is notified/trained on these updates.
  • Responsible for tracking all systemic issues reported to Production Support team to ensure resolutions are identified in a timely manner for all reported issues.
  • Serve as the Quality Management System Quality Representative.
  • Understand customers' business processes and practices and serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in specifically assigned areas.
  • Provide project monitoring, risk assessment and decision support analysis to DOS management. Advise of methods to mitigate risks. Manage the details.
  • Provide support for the management, coordination and implementation of operational procedures and financial systems/processes. Act as a liaison between the systems development group, computer operations and the systems accounting group to ensure that system releases, upgrades, and hot fixes are coordinated and implemented in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate system solution approaches and systems integration analysis. Read software design documents and advise management on whether the design meets the domestic and overseas business requirements.
  • Coordinate new software implementation efforts from an accounting perspective.
  • Work with DOS customers to obtain user requirements for system changes. Evaluate user requirements and translate into software change requests.
  • Act as the integrator and advise senior management of the cross system or cross business impacts of software releases and software changes.
  • Participate in the user acceptance reviews (UAR) for all software releases and advise management of all known issues.
  • Perform transaction analysis, verification of system interfaces and identification of errors. Utilize spreadsheet and financial reporting software to analyze data.
  • Identify training needs for the staff and user community regarding software changes. Recommend training plan, prepare a training schedule, and conduct training.
  • Responsible for providing user support as needed.
  • Review and prepare documents and presentations as required.
  • Perform administrative duties to support division chief and staff.
  • Comply with all appropriate controls and procedures to protect organizational integrity and prevent unauthorized use or misappropriation of all classified and sensitive (but unclassified) material, equipment, and Personal Identifiable Information (PII) in assignment area(s); report instances of security violations/problems to the appropriate supervisory/management official; assume personal responsibility for safeguarding classified and sensitive (but unclassified) material and equipment within assignment area(s).

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in Accounting or related field such as Business or Computer Science
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
  • 4 years of management or technical leadership experience
  • 8 years reviewing and evaluating Federal accounting systems, procedures and regulations
  • 4 years of systems analysis and design experience in any combination of the following areas: requirements gathering; system design reviews; implementation support; business process analysis; or issue resolution
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and client interaction skills
  • Strong analytical skills to identify problems and propose solutions
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining a professional demeanor
  • Self-starter with initiative to identify concerns and suggest options for resolution
  • Overseas or domestic travel may be required

Desired Qualifications
  • Master's in Accounting or related field such as Business or Computer Science
  • Experience with CGI Federal Momentum software
  • Education/experience in accounting, ideally in Federal Government accounting
  • Experience with business process improvement projects with a focus on streamlining processes and automating where appropriate
  • Experience with Microsoft Access and the creation of databases and tools for process improvement
  • Project management experience with life-cycle software development; testing, implementation and support
  • Experience with Federal Government systems or processes
  • Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certifications
