Brand Bilingual Translation Manager (Spanish/English)

Capital One is seeking a bilingual Manager for our Virginia-based Brand Creative Spanish translation team. This team is responsible for translating marketing and communications for a variety of customer segments and products, across various channels. It's their job to deliver a positive Spanish-language customer experience while staying true to the Capital One Brand tone & personality.

You'd be a great fit if you:
  • Are a fluent Bilingual (Spanish/English) speaker and writer
  • Understand the art and nuances of adapting English marketing and communications so they resonate with Spanish-language customers
  • Possess a keen understanding of the US Hispanic market, and can guide teams to communicate with language that is inclusive across all Hispanic subgroups
  • Have a positive attitude and readily partner with all types of people
  • Have the ability to handle multiple projects at once and meet aggressive deadlines
  • Understand the benefits of process and you use it to your advantage
  • Can effectively manage a creative team locally as well as remotely
  • Have strong client & customer servicing and presentation skills
  • Proactively overcome adversity and obstacles
  • Are happy learning and effectively navigating complex corporate organizations, processes and culture


Your responsibilities:
  • Review and approve new creative project requests
  • Craft timeline estimates and work with project management resources on staffing
    for creative projects
  • Manage a broad portfolio of translation work and ensure the team delivers quality work on Brand and on time
  • Help evolve the team's skills and capabilities, with a constant eye on process improvements
  • Organize and lead creative reviews & presentations as needed
  • Contribute your expertise to the broader cross-functional Enterprise Language Accessibility leadership team
  • Manage bilingual creative talent (Art Directors, Graphic Designers or Copywriters) including a mix of full-time associates, contractors and agencies
  • Accommodate and be comfortable with travel for in-person meetings as necessary (approximately 10% of the time), generally between Richmond and McLean, VA and only when safe


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 4 years of work experience in Spanish language communications
  • At least 4 years of experience leading creative or marketing teams


Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year of experience in the financial (or some other highly-regulated) industry
  • At least 2 years multicultural marketing experience
  • At least 4 years of experience working for a Latinx, Hispanic and/or Spanish translation agency team
