RF/DSP Systems Engineer/SME - Space Programs
Job Description Peraton is seeking a Senior RF/DSP (Digital Signal Processing) Systems Engineer to join our team in Greenbelt, Maryland to support our Space Exploration Network Services and Evolution (SENSE) contract at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. As prime contractor on the SENSE contract, Peraton is responsible for the operation, maintenance, sustainment and systems engineering of NASA's worldwide satellite communication networks. The successful candidate will be responsible for systems engineering activities associated with the development of NASA communications ground systems in support of new and existing programs and initiatives and NASA science missions, to include radio frequency (RF) communications analysis. This position also involves being a part of a dynamic team executing concurrent planning and execution to meet high-priority national timelines for missions Develop systems engineering-related documentation including: Requirements documents Specifications Interface Control Documents Validation & Verification Plans Support technical design and analysis activities associated with digital signal processing Plan and execute end-to-end systems integration Perform analysis, design, and development of ground systems with a focus on digital signal processing Perform RF communication system performance analysis Lead and perform trade studies Required Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math, or other related technical discipine At least 8+ years of experience in the analysis, design, and development of communications systems, to include RF communications analysis Experience with the development and ownership of Systems Engineering artifacts to include Requirements Documents, Specifications, Interface Control Documents, and Validation and Verification Plans Demonstrated ability to develop, define, and implement signal processing solutions Experience with applied digital signal processing Experience with planning and/or participation in end-to systems integration events to include the flow of data from missions throughout the entire system to the user Demonstrated experience with trade studies, RF communications system performance analysis, and varied analysis, design, and development activities associated with ground systems Demonstrated experience as an expert serving in the role as reviewer for teams preparing for Key Decision Points (KPD's) and/or Milestone Decision Reviews for projects and programs Prior experience working with federal government programs and projects This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. In order to obtain a clearance you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship Desired Qualifications: A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math or other related technical discipine Prior experience working with NASA programs and projects Prior experience working with Department of Defense and/or Intelligence Community organizations Have the ability to work under challenging timelines with ambiguity Able to work independently and as part of a team Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills Peraton drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy.
