Join GDITs Defense Division to provide Systems Engineering services for an exciting new contract. As a Senior Systems Engineer you will be responsible for design, documentation, implementation and management of network transport services for a hybrid cloud capability. You will manage firewalls, routing tables, VLAN configurations and other typical System Engineering tasks to enable highly available and secure communications between on premise data center capabilities and cloud services.Candidate will provide technical leadership in the planning, investigation, design, and implementation of physical and logical communications solutions having network-wide impact. Provide solutions that incorporate integration of digital encoding formats, line codes, and timing concepts across engineering disciplines and environments. Influence team members, the customer, and vendors to define, analyze, and provide solutions for the customer's voice, data, and image communications requirements. Prepare complex work prints and schematics to define and illustrate entire network structures and solutions. Identify and recommend new design tools for use in communications projects. Evaluate projected corporate network usage and provides and implements media solutions. Participate in and influences marketing proposals and studies by providing costing models, reports, and technical solutions for network-wide projects. Identify product modifications and influences vendors to incorporate these changes into their products. Plan, design, and implement network managements systems to monitor, diagnose, control, and measure performance of multiple communication networks. Identify, analyze, and recommend new network administrative systems for entire networks to ensure accurate network inventory and timely implementation.Responsibilities will include:Systems ArchitectureEnd Product DeliveryClient Facing Interaction and managementProcess ManagementVendor management and interactionMonitoring and managing all installed systems and infrastructureConfigure, install, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management toolsEvaluate the existing systems and provide the technical direction to IT support staffOversee the development of customized software and hardware requirement.Plan and implement systems automation as required for better efficiency.Formulate and design the security system in place to maintain data safetyOversee the constant availability of technical resourcesMaintain and supervise the inventoryTimely reporting on the log sheet for the rapid response to any glitchesRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field Plus 5 years of Systems/Network Engineering experience to include knowledge of Cloud Services; OR equivalent combination of experience and educationTS/SCI with polygraphNetworking experience (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VOIP, SSL, VPN, network topology, firewall)Fundamental knowledge of information technology principles, methods, and techniques as well as knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipmentExperience in DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (CC-SRG) and SCCA Architectures including Cloud Access Point (CAP) architecturesAbility to thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, growth-focused environmentAbility to motivate teams to perform exceptionally over long stretches of time and in challenging situationsCCNA, CompTIA Security+ or similar for IAT Level II DoD 8570 certificationDesired Skills or Experience:Experience in cloud service delivery network modelsExperience in DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (CC-SRG) and SCCA Architectures including Cloud Access Point (CAP) architecturesExperience with MS Office 365 design, deployment and migrationExperience with managed service delivery modelsExperience with hybrid and cloud service delivery modelsCWIP - IAT level II Compliance:Persons provide network environment (NE) and advance level compute environment (CE) support. Responsible for finding and fixing unprotected vulnerabilities and ensuring that remote access points are well secured. Focuses on threats and vulnerabilities and improving the security of systems. Demonstrates a mastery of the functions of the IAT Level I position. Monitors, tests and troubleshoots hardware and software IA problems pertaining to the network environment. Recommends and schedules IA related repairs to include performing IA related customer support functions such as installation, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance, in response to customer requirements for the network environment (NE). Analyzes patterns of non-compliance and identifies vulnerabilities resulting from a departure from the implementation plan or that were not apparent during testing. Provides leadership and direction to IA operations personnel. Implement applicable patches including IAVAs, and IAVBs for their environment.
