The Position The Chief Financial Officer will report to Company's CEO as a key member of the senior executive staff and lead all financial operations for the company. Responsibilities will include company-wide accounting, FP&A, treasury, tax, investor relations, data analytics and facilities. Priorities for the RoleProvide leadership across the company; influence the direction and development of Company's long-term strategic plan: Become a collaborative partner within Company's management team and across the company to support Company's revenue growth. Support a culture of transparency for finance by proactively providing counsel and accurate information to other members of senior management. Develop and present timely and accurate budgets, financial plans, historical financial reports, KPIs and other metrics and financial trends to the Board and key decision makers. The CFO will use data from market intelligence along with internal operating and financial metrics to influence corporate strategy and business decisions.Effectively articulate and sell Company's market opportunity and business potential both internally and externally: The CFO will be a key spokesperson for the company both internally and externally. Develop relationships and establish credibility with key external constituencies, including public company investors, investment bankers and research analysts. The CFO should be adept at crafting and articulating the company's value proposition to the investment community and identifying the key business metrics that will be most relevant. Articulate business complexities in an easy-to-understand way.Scale and develop the accounting/finance team and broader company: The CFO will be a team builder who will continue to grow the finance and accounting team and support overall hiring/recruiting plans. They will build trusted relationships across the company with peers and subordinates.Support continued growth and improve compliance and processes to prepare the company for an eventual IPO. The CFO will need to support Company's business expansion and be prepared to manage business challenges that could arise, including accounting and tax treatment. The CFO will provide financial and business insights in areas such as strategic planning, product development, financing, headcount planning, marketing and sales expenditures and geographic expansion in preparation for an IPO and beyond.Qualifications & ExperienceMust thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth culture and have experience building high-performance teams and establishing systems and processes. A strong manager of execution who exhibits urgency in completing projects and getting things done.Technology industry experience required. SaaS and/or consumer marketplace experience preferred.15+ years of increasing financial leadership responsibility with experience in operational finance and FP&A at a high growth, tech company.Management consulting, investment banking and/or strong FP&A background in early years of career would be a plus.Data-driven leader with a deep appreciation for data. Strong analytical skills and ability to improve ROI.Excellent leadership skills; highly regarded for recruiting, mentoring and coaching staff.Strategic thinker who can develop a passion for Company and the company's mission.Collaborative team player who sharpens the thinking of those around them by challenging assumptions and adding a fresh perspective on a wide range of business issues.Ability to communicate difficult messages in an effective, factual, and transparent way.Experience managing external contacts such as auditors, tax accountants, investors, investment bankers, industry analysts, strategic partners, customers, and others. Exceptional presentation and communication skills.Experience leading companies through financing transactions. M&A and IPO experience a plus.Excels in a customer-focused environment where the culture is mission-oriented, and the team is excited by the huge opportunity.
