The VP of Human Resources (HR) knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the mission, vision, and values of Company in leadership behaviors, practices, and decisions. The VP of HR is seen as a key senior leader in the organization who lives the values of Company and continues to build on our culture of Dignity and Respect for all. The VP of HR will be a leader and mentor to the HR team members, demonstrating through their actions the highest degree of ethics, values, and collaboration. The Directors of Human Resources at the communities report directly to the VP of HR. This is a full-time position, typically 8:30am-5pm (with some flexibility).The VP of HR effectively bring speed to value when implementing Company's business strategies; develops and implements HR tactics targeted to advance core business objectives. Provides HR services to leadership aligning HQ strategies with community strategic needs. Leads and/or assists overseeing HR operation services such as coaching, talent development and retention, organizational development, change management, leadership strategies, policy administration and performance mgt. Provides guidance identifying and analyzing the current work environment, implements organizational development initiatives and provides training as needed. Provides leadership and direction to leaders and employees on human resources policies, plans, programs, practices, processes and tools to ensure knowledge transfer. Activates HR audits as needed to ensure accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of HR systems, data, applications and reports. Conducts regular community visits to support HR initiatives. Assists in developing and monitoring key HR performance indicators; advises leaders on trends and significant variances requiring interventions. Coaches leaders and HR teams on conflict resolution and/or negotiations on employee issues, performance improvement plans, etc. Participates in employee investigations as needed. Assists in the design and implementation of tactics to build and sustain high performance teams and strong retention of employees. Collaborate with leaders implementing and monitoring employee engagement surveys and outcomes. The VP of HR will assess and streamline the HR processes in the Company communities concerning recruiting, on boarding, education, performance, coaching and career progression of Company employees and leaders. This leader will also create programs, systems, and processes to build talent attraction capabilities that position Company as an employer of choice. The VP of Talent management will drive the strategic objectives to engage and grow talent throughout the organization.Essential Duties/Key AccountabilitiesLeads the delivery of all fundamental HR services and support and promotes company values and culture in the Company Organization(s).Must be a trusted advisor for all leaders and employees. Coach and foster accountability for performing basic leadership and management tasks.Provides knowledgeable counsel and coaching to senior leaders in their roles and cultivates mid-level and up-and-coming leaders to evolve to leadership thinking and actions.Leads and/or participates in projects at the HQ level to drive consistent HR strategies and tactics to achieve desired outcomes.Coaches leaders and HR teams on conflict resolution and/or negotiations around employee issues, guide performance improvement plans and educate on conduct issues.Provide guidance on employment laws, compensation, benefits, and company policies.Oversees and designs programs to drive organizational growth and change, in support of the businesses strategic plan, which includes a focus on engaging and growing talent.Assess the organization's training and development resources, structure, and programs and build the team (internal and external resources) to create the talent for Company's short and long-term needs.Expands training through design and delivery of high-quality learning solutions that address leadership training, and meet regulatory requirements.Provides direction and guidance for design and implementation of a comprehensive competency framework to determine, assess, and develop performance effectiveness.Provides group and one-on-one coaching with leaders and employees to support leadership development, business decision-making, human resources management, and problem-solving capabilities.Provides oversight, guidance, and leadership to community Human Resources Departments.Knowledge BaseAccomplished business leader with a record of delivering sustainable business results through best-in-class people practices.A strong assessor of talent'understands how to attract and retain exceptional talent and bring out the best potential while enhancing capacity.Experience developing and leveraging Succession Planning and Performance Management programs to enhance employee growth and performance.Ability to quickly establish and maintain credibility with key leaders at all levels of the organization. Demonstrates intellectual curiosity.QualificationsBachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent experience required.At least (5) five years in a leadership role and a minimum of 10 years in a senior Human Resources role.Professional Certification: SPHR, or SHRM-SCP preferred.Experience in Life Plan Communities preferred.Able to travel to locations across the DMV.Must have a high level of Microsoft Office applicationsStrong working knowledge of UKG-Pro (formerly Ulti-Pro), Applicant Pro, On-Shift, and Relias Learning preferred.
