Job Description

The Washington Post is hiring an Account Manager for our Washington Post Live group. In this role, you will work with our internal client partners to create new partnership opportunities for our fast growing Live business. This critical role will be a part of a team that leverages the exposure and reach of partnering with a live events business to create new revenue streams. Internal title for this role - WP Live Account Manager

  • Work closely with Managing Director of Washington Post Live on all elements of the Washington Post Live business including process for client execution, a focus on the development of series that are both newsworthy and of interest to brands and developing new business through Client Partner engagement.
  • Assist with the successful expansion of sponsorable opportunities to further drive revenue.
  • Collaborate with the dedicated WP Client Partner team as a subject matter expert in order to dramatically build upon Washington Post Live's brand exposure in RFPs and general sponsorship base.
  • Work closely with client partners (WP's internal sales team), clients and activation teams to ensure sponsor expectations are managed and met in pre and post-sale.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on client calls-led by Client Partners-and internal RFP brainstorming sessions to develop and shape programming that meets client objectives.
  • Partner with sales and marketing teams to build integrated packages and opportunities and to ensure event opportunities are being marketed in all outgoing proposals.
  • Participate in presentations to senior-level marketing executives within client organizations, understanding their needs and articulating how WP Live programming fits within the marketing mix.
  • Deliver regular reporting of pipeline, booked revenue, weekly updates on business progress to the Managing Director of Live.


Requirements:
  • 5-8 years sales/marketing experience
  • 70/30 sales vs marketing experience
  • Collaborative mindset in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Event sales experience
  • Extremely organized
  • Excels in a fast-paced environment
  • Independent worker
  • Media experience is preferred but not required
