Economic Researchers
Economic Researchers for American Institutes for Research (AIR) to work at our Arlington, VA location. May telecommute as necessary. Identify and implement empirical approaches. Develop conceptual frameworks and experimental designs that guide project work. Manage and analyze large-scale data files for research. Apply quantitative techniques to collect and analyze data. Organize and document analytic results and research procedures. Prepare technical reports and journal articles and present findings. Develop and draft research proposals. Mentor research analysts and manage projects. Serve as client contact for analytical and statistical expertise. Little domestic travel may be involved. May undergo standard pre-hire background checks. Must have Ph.D. in Economics, Public Policy, or relevant Social Science field with coursework in econometrics or applied statistics, and the following skills (1 year of experience, which can be gained concurrent with academic studies) in: advanced statistical methods, STATA software, analysis of large-scale data sets, and design of experiments and quasi-experiments. Alternatively, applicants may have a Master's in Economics, Public Policy, or relevant Social Science field with coursework in econometrics or applied statistics, and the following skills (4 years of experience, which can be gained concurrent with academic studies) in: advanced statistical methods, STATA software, analysis of large-scale data sets, and design of experiments and quasi-experiments.
