Sr. Associate Copywriter - United Income

United Income is a financial technology company that was recently acquired by Capital One. We combine the latest technology with time-tested wisdom to better understand the interconnectedness of our financial lives, allowing us to lower client's taxes, boost retirement benefits, and improve the quality of investment management.

We have approximately $1 billion of assets under management, with 99 percent client retention to date. We all are united in our mission to use new technology to increase the financial potential of our customers in ways that have not been possible in the past. That's where you come in. We want the best and the brightest. Work is more fun when you know that you're surrounded by people who are as dedicated as you are.

Our vision is clear:

Use technology to lower the cost of advice, improve its quality, and simplify its delivery so we can help more people convert their hard work into financial mobility and security.

Our goals are simple:

Create the best financial planning and money management solution in the world;

Create a culture that is ambitious, fun, smart, and attracts and retains the best talent in each of our major areas of business; and

Meaningfully and measurably improve the financial lives of American households.

United Income is seeking a talented copywriter to join our marketing team.

The ideal candidate has a curious mind, a devotion to diversity in all things, and a sense of humor, which makes work fun. You've got the big ideas regardless of the channel with a special knack for all things digital. You love thinking through highly usable and intuitive experiences mixed with creative cleverness. You always strive to do the right thing, live in the white space, and aren't afraid of any project, big or small.

You and a marketing designer will partner to work on a variety of digital marketing projects. You'll be involved with everything from small product page changes up to creating, building, and continuously improving marketing campaigns across multiple channels. You won't spend your days coding, but a familiarity with the process is a plus. You'll collaborate with digital, strategy, and business partners along the way to build and refine your ideas and our messages.

You'll be among the first members of United Income's marketing team, and we're looking to you to write the stories that will turn a prospect into a customer. You will have the opportunity to define foundational marketing elements like voice, tone, processes, and approach.

We're looking for the right mix of customer obsession, creative writing, high standards, and problem solving.

What you will bring to the role:
  • Top-notch writing ability-and an ability to make stories come to life for our customers
  • A problem solver-conceptual thinking and strategic problem solving are key
  • An ability to thrive on a new and growing team, helping define how we do things rather than relying on legacy structures
  • Think visually about how the copy comes to life
  • A team player who readily collaborates with all types of people
  • A clear understanding of tone and the ability to adapt your writing style based on the message and your intended audience
  • Understand the importance of creative strategy, use it to create powerful work, and can clearly present it to others for buy-in
  • Positive outlook and attitude
  • The resilience required when creating something new from scratch, and the mindset that the work you create tomorrow will be better than today
  • Deliver quality work, on time, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, UI design, responsive/adaptive design principles are a plus. You don't have to do it, just understand how you can use those tools to your advantage.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of wealth management or investing writing experience
