The incumbent serves as an IT Project Manager within the United States Mint, Information Technology Directorate, Application Development Division to support Manufacturing Focus Branch.

As a IT Project Manager, you will:
  • Provide leadership and direction on various projects related to ITD services and mission.
  • Initiate, plan, and accomplish project goals, perform research and analysis in support of the projects, and identify and resolve project related problems.
  • Provide guidance, leadership, and support of business reengineering to advance the business of the United States Mint, and serves as the expert specialist/technical advisor, and provides assistance to technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) on assigned projects
  • Ensure the organization's strategic plan, mission, and vision, are communicated to the project teams and integrated into the project teams' objectives, work plans, work products, and services.
  • Act as a project manager on one or more concurrent project teams.

Occasional travel - 1 to 5 nights per month.

The experience may have been gained in either the public or private sector or volunteer service . One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement.

For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service.

Specialized experience for this position includes:
  • Experience applying project management principles, practices and techniques to conduct or lead engagements and studies; and
  • Experience accomplishing the goals of projects by collaborating with technical and business subject matter experts; and
  • Experience developing work breakdown structures, resource leveling, milestones, predecessor and successor tasks, and reporting project status data; and
  • Experience applying system design policies and processes, integrating system analysis, software development, data validation and analysis, quality assurance, security and customer support into project plans.

In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must also show proficiency in 1) attention to detail, 2) customer service, 3) oral communication, and 4) problem solving.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
