Serves in the capacity of Project Manager and provides Project Support, performing multiple and varying assignments under the limited direction of a senior Project Manager or Program Manager. Projects typically relate to new construction and/or improvement of new or existing facilities that involve architecture; landscape architecture; interior design; space planning; and civil, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and structural engineering disciplines.

Facilitates the progress of a project from initial scoping through construction and project closeout by coordinating information. Provides support through data analysis, and contributing to overall strategy and performance evaluation. Leads planning, coordination, and execution of smaller design and construction projects. Supports more senior Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing medium-sized projects.

Applies experience and advanced knowledge applicable to his/her discipline to plan and accomplish assignments. Assignments require knowledge and experience working across functional and/or organizational lines. Primary tasks involve monitoring project progression, developing budget/financial data, data analysis, formulation of components of overall strategy, and performance evaluation. Participates in project meetings, on-site construction visits, and pre- and post-occupancy evaluations. Collects data required to evaluate program/project progress (e.g., cost, other performance measures, delivery, acceptance). Ensures project issues related to space planning, interior design, construction, relocation, furniture, and equipment are supported. Works with design professionals to ensure plans for proposed alteration/renovation projects are in accordance with all applicable building codes and regulations and to ensure all aspects of project are in accordance with contract plans and specifications.

Plays a major role in internal and external communication. Communication tasks include preparation and disbursement of meeting minutes, briefings, status reports, and white papers. Coordinates with design professionals on deliverables, including preparation of drawings and design documents, to meet project functional and aesthetic needs and ensure coordination and integration of the mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering disciplines within the interior context.

Demonstrates considerable independence in planning time and helping a more senior Project Manager to plan and use assigned resources to accomplish projects. Identifies, analyzes, and recommends solutions for complex/difficult problems. Resolves most problems and work issues without the assistance of a manager, senior project manager, program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. Refers problems that require the attention of more experienced managers and professionals to the appropriate persons. Recommends improvements to systems and processes.

Established policies/procedures provide guidance for most assignments, but allow considerable discretion for employee to select the most appropriate approach(es) or recommend new approaches.
