Responsibilities

Serves as Facility Planning, Design & Construction Coordinator within the Support Directorate, Construction Branch and Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the evaluation of the overall effectiveness of the capital construction program in accordance with Business & Support Services strategic goals, business plans and resources.

Directs the implementation of the capital construction program for Business Operations to include all project validation assessments (PVAs), master planning, new stores, renovation, and expansion projects. Interacts with Business Operations, local commands, and construction contractors to insure compliance with Business Operations branding, best practice standards, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), scope of work and approved budget.

Administers the development and maintenance of Business Operations Brand Standards for interior and exterior architecture, interior design, color and materials, design elements, and prototypical drawings in coordination with senior management.

Performs as a functional team member that is characterized as precise, methodical, customer-centric, and technically skilled. Communicates proactively and provides leadership to the team in the execution of project assignments throughout the development process, from inception to completion.

Coordinates and controls project scope requirements related to business operations that enable monitoring of the planning, design and construction progress with regards to time, scope and budget.

Performs and monitors financial and demographic analysis to ensure the financial model and sales forecasted (i.e. per the PVA) for each new project is achieved and maintained, to include any scope changes or deviations and proactively communicates findings.

Stays current with industry and competitor trends in order to maintain a strategic network of professional contacts. Collaborates effectively with internal teams including Merchandising, Field Operations, Logistics, Food & Hospitality, Finance, Construction and senior management.

Uses AutoCAD and related software management programs to improve productivity, reduce cost of design/design development, and accelerate project schedules.

Conducts and/or participates in official site visits for procedural inspections and reviews for compliance program requirements and project scope requirements. Conducts and organizes portions of analytical studies and economic analysis to ensure functional needs are met for programs and services. Makes recommendations on corrective actions and conducts follow up inspections. Plans, develops and conducts analysis for current and projected programs to achieve goals and objectives. Collects, verifies and adjusts data from diverse sources and performs quantitative and qualitative analysis manually and through automated systems.

Actively participates in conferences, briefings and meetings. Researches, analyzes and prepares supporting documentation for presentations and proposals. May prepare correspondence, briefs, action documents, routing sheets, point papers and slide presentations for use by management officials. Reviews, researches and benchmarks emerging trends and analyzes the functional impacts on the Business Operations. Reports on performance of programs to higher authority.

May travel to conduct work assignments. May work a fluctuating work schedule to conduct work assignments outside of the typical workweek and work hours.

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

EVALUATIONS:

Qualifications

BACHELOR'S DEGREE in Retail Management, Business or a related field appropriate to work of the position AND three years of experience in the occupation, OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above, OR appropriate experience that demonstrates the ability to perform technical work in support of program analysis to evaluate and improve the efficiency, effectiveness and productivity of the organization. Strong analytical skills. Skill to compile and analyze qualitative and quantitative data, and develop statistical or narrative reports, charts and graphs. Skill in oral and written communication to prepare and present recommendations and solutions regarding issues based on analysis and evaluation of proposals. Knowledge and experience with intermediate level computer skills is required (word processing, spreadsheets, database software, and computer drafting/architectural programs AutoCAD).

Eligible for incremental telework as determined by MR/MF policy.
