About the Department of Social Work: The mission of Mason's Department of Social Work is to prepare future social workers to be effective leaders, scholars, and practitioners who have the necessary tools to promote human well-being by ensuring economic and social justice, as well as human rights for all. The Department of Social Work is one of six academic units in the College of Health and Human Services, soon to transition to a College of Public Health. The Department of Social Work offers BSW and MSW degree programs with an educational and research mission focusing on practice and policy interventions that improve health and well-being and promote economic and social justice, particularly for underserved individuals, families, and communities. The MSW program offers a fully online option, a dual degree program, MSW/MS in Conflict Analysis and Resolution, and plans to offer a dual degree MSW/MPH program in the near future. About the Position: The Field Education Coordinator will provide a variety of educational services for BSW and MSW students and will have operational and management responsibility of placing and managing social work field placements in community agencies for their field practicum. The Field Education Coordinator will recruit, assess, and work with community agencies that provide appropriate practicum opportunities as set forth by our accrediting body, the Council on Social Work Education. In addition, the Field Education Coordinator will assist in training and support of Field Liaisons, Field Instructors, and students. The Field Education coordinator is expected to participate in departmental activities through committees and may participate in a variety of other professional activities.

Responsibilities: * Database management of student and agency information; * Conduct of student interviews to make appropriate match to field practicum agency; * Recruitment and development of new agencies to host social work Field Education students; * Assist in the field seminar curriculum development; * Assist with student orientation, field faculty, and field instructor training; * Provide support to field faculty (Field Liaisons).

Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Social Work from an accredited program, or equivalent combination of education and experience; * Demonstrated post-graduation work in the social work field (2+ years preferred), or equivalent; * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Power Point; * Attention to detail, strengths-based problem solving, adherence to all CSWE requirements; * Adhere to all NASW code of ethics, university, and departmental policies.

Preferred Qualification: * Master's degree in Social Work from accredited University.
