Summary

The Director, Program Development and Optimizations acts as (1) a strategic consultant to the Foundation's numerous Program Managers, (2) an advisor to the Foundation's Leadership Team and as (3) a manager of the Program Development team, (4) a facilitator and collaborator to help improve and optimize Foundation Programs, (5) A leader in developing new programs (6) a leader in managing Customer Experience, and Program/Product Management.

In the role of manager, the Director assures that (1) deadlines are met, (2) deliverables are in accordance with standards, (3) the collaboration between Program Management and the Foundation's several functional units (e.g. Marketing, Development, Finance, Evaluation, Legal etc.) is optimized for effectiveness and (4) that the innovation process is periodically improved in light of new learnings.

Responsibilities
  1. Developing and Managing a Product Management and Program Management capability at the Foundation. This includes defining a framework for Product Management, and developing the tools and processes that will deliver market-ready programs that help the Foundation achieve our strategic goals.
  2. Managing a team that will handle and consult on multiple products and programs as needed.
  3. Overseeing the Alcove VR product and working with the VP of Program Development to develop a strategy for the use of VR to achieve the Foundation's strategic Goals.
  4. Driving innovation and supporting products/programs in the Innovation Pipeline.
  5. Overseeing the development of Customer Experience capabilities and continued management of the capability once it is operational.
  6. Overseeing the development of Insights Management capabilities and continued management of the capability once it is operational.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • MBA in either business or social entrepreneurship preferred
  • 5 or more years of experience in either innovation management, start-ups, social entrepreneurship or intrapreneurship.
  • Experience in coaching, facilitating, mentoring or teaching start-up teams in either an entrepreneurial or intrapreneurial context.
  • Experience with Lean Start-Up, Human-Centered Design, and Agile Development methodologies and an understanding of the Shared Value approach to social innovation.
  • Excellent business judgment, a familiarity with a wide variety of business models both in the for-profit and non-profit sectors, and the ability to see the potential application of these models in the context of social innovation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that facilitate coaching, negotiation, advisory and coordination.
  • Proficiency with both quantitative and qualitative research and analysis.
  • Proficiency in Product and Project Management.
  • Preference to take responsibility, manage several streams of work at once, and deliver professional work-product promptly and on-deadline.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, succinctly and effectively, both written and verbal, including public speaking.
  • Highly self-motivated and driven to make a difference.
