Specialist, Change Management Lead

Position #: 106395
 

The role of the Change Management Lead within the Division of IT (DIT) at the University of Maryland, College Park is to actively lead the change management, configuration management and service assessment processes supporting the delivery of service across the University of Maryland College Park (UMCP) Campus. This position is responsible for monitoring, measuring, enforcing, and continually improving these processes.


Minimum qualifications

Education
● Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business, engineering, computer science, or a related field. One year of relevant education/training may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

Experience
● 2+ years of experience leading Change/Configuration Management operations in an IT environment
● 2+ years of assessment experience developing service metrics, measuring baselines and evaluating success
● Demonstrated experience with Change/Configuration Management tools and workflows

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
● Knowledge of the principles and practices of Change Management, Configuration management and IT Service Assessment
● Ability to facilitate meetings
● Ability to work independently or as part of a team
● Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
 

Preferences

● Experience in higher education

● Familiarity with ServiceNow
● ITIL Foundations certification

● Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.
● Sitting for extended periods of time.
● Dexterity of hands and fingers required to operate a computer keyboard or mouse, and to handle other computer components.
