Summary
This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for key activities in support of the emergent and rotational Global Force Management (GFM) mission including acting as the Headquarters Joint Working Group Lead, Directed Readiness Table Coordinator, Force Element Coordinator, and Global Force Management automation integrator for the entire Division.

Responsibilities
As a JOINT FORCE MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
- Serves as a Joint Force Management Specialist and key advisor to the Chief, Emergent Sourcing Branch on all current operational matters that impact the development of force sourcing recommendations in response to Request for Forces from the Combatant Commanders.
- Is responsible for supporting all current operational analysis and emergency action requirements of force providing and deployment of joint forces and capabilities in response to Combatant Commander (CCDR) requested capabilities.
- Serves as Emergent Sourcing lead for coordination, staffing, and execution of the Directed Readiness Tables and force element tracker, which requires the incumbent to participate in Joint forums that review and approve proposed force adjustments each Fiscal Year (FY).
- Facilitates and executes the development of sourcing recommendations and plans to meet the Joint force requirements of Combatant Commanders.
- Serves as Emergent Sourcing Branch lead for integration and coordination with the J35-South Policy, Process and Technology Division's efforts to support automation tools executing Global Force Management.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
- Applies knowledge and experience in military operational planning, execution, force deployment operations, and Joint Staff related experience to provide joint force deployment execution.
- Applies Joint and Service directives affecting Joint Staff J35 in order to support the theater contingency operations.
- Arranges and discusses with other Joint Staff divisions, Combatant Command Staffs and individual Service staff counterparts to provide availability, readiness, interoperability, operations and deployment policy for issues affecting conventional forces and the Global Force Management mission.
- Applies knowledge of national security policy, its developmental process, and the interrelationships among the National Security Strategy, National Military Strategy, Global Force Mission, Department of Defense and Chairman of Joint Chiefs Staff to shape policy guidance use of joint forces worldwide
