The Program Assistant supports Children's National Research Institute Administration in the daily execution of program tasks and projects, providing administrative support to leadership. Responsible for maintaining office files, completing purchase and reimbursement requests, as well as managing financial records. The Program Assistant will also perform other duties such as data entry; selected administrative duties such as filing and record keeping, photocopying, creating flyers and posters, update resources and documents, assist with special projects and, other duties associated with a project.

Qualifications

Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree (Required)

Minimum Work Experience
1 year At least one year performing administrative tasks or supporting program coordination functions through applicable experiences. (Required)

Required Skills/Knowledge
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Access.
  • Ability to produce quality reports under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a busy clinic environment.
  • Web design and desktop publishing skills a plus.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to follow through issues to resolution
  • Ability to interact with all levels of organizational personnel to include: management staff, consulting staff, researchers, research administrators, etc.


Functional Accountabilities
Responsible Conduct of Research
  • Consistently demonstrates adherence with the standards for the responsible conduct of research
  • Responsible for appropriate use of research funds and resources
  • Comply with all annual job-related training requirements

Administrative Support
  • Maintain office files.
  • Complete purchase and reimbursement requests, as well as manage financial records.
  • Ability to produce quality reports under tight deadlines.

Special Projects
  • Assist with special projects related to program goals and mission.
  • May coordinate volunteers effort.

Data and Research
  • Will occasionally be tasked with keeping statistics regarding program.


  • Ability to produce quality reports under tight deadlines.
  • Maintain research databases in a manner which meets IRB requirements for protection of patient privacy.
