POSITION SUMMARY The Director of Engagement (DE): Campaign & Messaging is the primary organizational messaging steward and oversees all brand experience initiatives in Marketing, both internal and external, across multiple platforms and formats to drive brand awareness, messaging, engagement, sales enablement, sales pipeline, and positive educator behavior. This individual creates and implements a strategy for campaign and content marketing that drives all things related to content and channel optimization, segmentation and localization, analytics, and meaningful measurement. This position will report to the Chief Engagement Officer and works as one with the Creative, and Events teams to drive an integrated brand experience for all audiences, especially the educator journey from prospect to advocate. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Ultimately, this position is to effectively lead the engagement campaign and messaging team to drive meaningful interactions and new business for ASCD. This includes: Collaboratively mapping out a content strategy that supports and extends marketing initiatives, both short- and long-term, determining which methods work for the brand and for each channel both inbound and outbound and why. Continuous evolvement of strategy and measurement is a must. Ensuring all educator experiences are on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality, and tone, and optimized for all types of channels and use including digital and print, video, and audio and in-person educator experiences. This is to be done for each of the 3 key personas (teachers, principals, administrators) within education. Directing the team to continually raise the bar with new interpretations of engagement and out-of-the-box approaches that expand and deepen the educator experience. Supervising writers, editors, content strategists; be an arbiter of best practices in engagement, grammar, messaging, writing, voice, and style. Leveraging market data to develop content themes/topics and execute a plan to develop the assets that support a point of view and educate customers that lead to critical behavioral metrics. Articulating and pitching brand experience concepts to peers and senior/executive leadership. Conducting periodic competitive audits and brand awareness and sentiment studies.
