Director, Data Analysis

As a Director in Capital One's Enterprise Products and Platform (EP2) team you will apply your analytical, data management, and process management skills to mature the management and use of data within EP2. You will collaborate with the broader Enterprise Data Management team and partner with stakeholders across EP2 on initiatives to help drive transformation and change necessary to achieve the Data Management strategic objectives -which balances both the value of data and the risk of data (particularly highly sensitive human data). We are seeking a dynamic, high-performing Director, Data Analytics to oversee and implement EP2 Data Management's strategy. This position will have a significant impact on both EP2 and the company as a whole-- so we are seeking someone who can take charge, think big, and deliver on their commitments.

What you'll do:
This position will lead a team of Data Analysts and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) charged with executing EP2's data strategy roadmap and working with key technical partners to develop infrastructure and capabilities. Given the substantial impact this position will have on EP2, we are looking for someone who can passionately lead a team of Data Analysts and SMEs and masterfully communicate and influence across the organization, all while pushing the envelope on our technologies.

On any given day you will be:
Leading the EP2 Data Management analytical and SME team
Driving data source and tool innovations based on stakeholder data needs, including adoption of new technologies
Creating leading-edge data products that uncover Data Management opportunities within EP2
Leading governance of our data assets, including development of a governance plan and structure
Providing strategic leadership on large cross-functional horizontal initiatives
Reporting on data analysis activities to partner groups, incorporating novel reporting and data visualization techniques
Partnering with diverse stakeholders (from Analysts to Executives) to deliver horizontally and vertically across the EP2
Actively championing the usage and adoption of data tools and solutions across the entire EP2 community
Working in an agile fashion, managing the stakeholder set and capacity for the team

Key accountabilities:
Building reports and dashboards to measure EP2's Data Management maturity and outcomes
Partner with various engineering and enterprise functions in adopting and informing data flow standards across ingestion, transformation, access and publishing
Driving data source and tool innovations based on stakeholder data needs, including adoption of cloud native technologies
Strategic orientation in their ability to define roadmaps in an incremental way to support business goals

This position will be in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment where you will be handling multiple concurrent projects while working independently and in teams. An ideal candidate will possess strong problem solving and conceptual thinking abilities in addition to communication, interpersonal and leadership skills. Prior experience creating organization roadmaps and driving strategy execution.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
At least 5 years of Professional Data Analysis experience
At least 5 years of People Management experience
At least 2 years of Big Data technology experience
At least 2 years of Data Visualization experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree
10+ years of Professional Data Analysis experience
5+ years of Big Data experience (AWS and Spark)
5+ years of cloud native (AWS) data processing experience
5+ years of Process Management experience
5+ years of Project Management experience
5+ years of experience with Python
5+ years of Data Governance experience
2+ years of experience with streaming data technologies (Kafka, Flink, Spark streaming)
