Job Responsibilities **Position available to work in any of Pennoni's Virginia offices (ie, Dulles, Leesburg, Winchester)** Pennoni is currently looking for a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer for the to perform the following, but not limited to: Utilizing technical knowledge for water and wastewater planning, design and construction engineering, to include writing and presenting technical reports and papersAssisting senior personnel with business development, to include positively presenting firm skills and service capabilities at meetings with clients and prospective clients, proposal preparation, and presentationsSuccessfully managing and completing projects as the lead Project Engineer to meet technical objectives, schedule and budget, including:Planning, design and construction of distribution/collection systems, pump/lift stations and water and wastewater treatment plants as wellCreating construction documents and specificationsProviding construction administration to include review of detailed shop drawings to project specificationsIdentifying and implementing new ideas and methods to improve efficiency and client satisfactionOverseeing and managing tasks/projects and client's expectations to include:Time and budget goals for the planning, design and construction of distribution/collection systems, pump/lift stations and water and wastewater treatment plantsCreating construction documents, specifications and handling construction oversight/administrationEffectively communicates with other professionals in a variety of settings, to include: clear expectations and training of subordinate personnel, professionals across other company disciplines in work coordination, and communication in work sharing with other offices. Required Attributes: Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering (MS or MBA desired)Minimum Professional Engineering license in Virginia or reciprocal state requiredAt least 6 years of experience in successfully providing water and wastewater engineering services to local municipal and private sector clients3-5 years of management experience required.Competent knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and best practices regarding environmental permitting, drinking water, wastewater, stormwater and erosion control; knowledge of Virginia regulations and Chesapeake Bay TMDL requirements preferred.Experience in computerized use or modeling in multiple areas which may include treatment plant processing, water distribution, sewer collection, asset management. GIS, water quality, and/or hydraulics and hydrologicsProject experience including planning and feasibility, design, and construction of water and wastewater supply, treatment, pumping and distribution/collection facilities; including upgrades, expansions, rehabilitation and retrofitsPreferred Attributes: Working knowledge of AutoCAD, 3D CAD, Revit BIM preferredAptitude and desire to grow the water/wastewater practice in Virginia and become a future leader in companyActive participation in American Water Works Association and Water Environment Federation or equivalent.Why Work With Us?
