Under the I2TS 3 task order INSCOM ensures reliable, uninterrupted availability of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Information Management (C4IM) including: networks, hardware, software, engineering, and specialized tools at the point of customer need to support INSCOM's mission. INSCOM and its MSCs provide the enabling layer to connect the Army and its tactical formations to defense and national intelligence agencies via tactical networks. The ability to provide mission critical intelligence is dependent on the successful use of its information technology (IT) networks worldwide.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:An I2TS3 Systems Administrator (Linux / Microsoft Administration)A' (Senior Systems Administrator)A' will:Perform systems administration of server systems connected to local and wide area networks. Desktop system management responsibilities involving account monitoring, security, Operating System (OS) installation, and other local area system administration related functionsManage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems to include implementing DoD STIGsConfigure and manage UNIX (RHEL 7.X and higher) and Windows 2012 Server and newer operating systemsProvide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customersIsolate and resolve software problems involving the applications, the operating system, the hardware, the communications infrastructure, or any combination thereofTroubleshoot, maintain integrity and configure systems with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performanceIntegrate new technologies into new and existing systems including the transition and migration of corporate systemsResponsible for the design and implementation of systems, mission architecture and associated hardwareSkills / Experience:Possess an expert working knowledge and understanding of system administration interdependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications and software integrationRequired - System administration experience with both Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systemsRequired - Basic skills in Bash ScriptingRequired - Intermediate Command Line Interface skillsRequired - Knowledge of usage of Yum Repository configuration commandsRequired - Perform Kernel UpdatesRequired - Ability to remediate DISA STIG findingsRequired- Ability to provide server and application security updates to multiple servers on both Linux and Microsoft platformsDesired - Knowledge of virtual server (VMware/Vsphere) technologiesDesired - Ability to perform data transfers requests and apply updates across multiple networks.Desired - Ability to upgrade Red Hat operating systems and apply the latest updates to software.A' Certification(s):Required Security Environment Certification: CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalentMicrosoft MCSA or equivalentRed Hat Enterprise Linux Specialization Certification (Red Hat Certified Specialist in Virtualization) within 180 days of hire.Security Clearance:TS/SCI requiredAdditional:Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract.High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of related experience, or Associate's Degree with 8 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 6 years of experience, or Master's Degree with 4 years of experienceScheduled Weekly Hours:40Travel Required:Less than 10%Telecommuting Options:Telecommuting Not AllowedWork Location:USA VA Fort BelvoirAdditional Work Locations:We are GDIT.
