Purchasing and Administrative Coordinator

The George Mason University, College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) is seeking an experienced, Fairfax-based administrative support professional for the College's School of Sport, Recreation and Tourism Management (SRTM). Responsibilities: This position is designed to provide the primary purchasing and fiscal support for the School of SRTM. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Coordinate and execute all SRTM fiscal and purchasing activities; * Lead procurement responsibilities including the purchasing of goods and services, coordinate and fulfill service agreements, using eVA eProcurement System and State Purchase card to support School Director, Academic Program Coordinators, and faculty; * Manage process of check request, GMU Foundation voucher, or other available university processes for school projects and events, professional services, consultants, speakers, honoraria, equipment, furniture, supplies, subscriptions, rental facilities, catering, travel, etc.; * Support payment requests for employee reimbursements, special requests, etc.; * Coordinate food and beverage authorization and ordering; * Verify funding sources and availability for faculty, when applicable; * Support activities with Touchnet Marketplace/Storefront - tracking income for SRTM program events and refund issues; * Complete all travel needs (flights, registrations, authorizations, and reimbursements) including candidate travel; * Provide budget coordination, tracking, and recordkeeping services in coordination with CEHD Office; develop and maintain spreadsheets; * Assist in the financial planning and implementation efforts for all SRTM special events; * Coordinate SRTM office supply inventory and ordering; * Provide administrative support for assessment and accreditation; * Fulfill miscellaneous office administration duties including, but not limited to, express shipping needs, surplus office furniture, etc.; * Serve as a support for other administrative functions in SRTM; * Coordinate with other SRTM and CEHD staff.

Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; * Purchasing experience in an office setting; * Must have effective communication and organizational skills, and experience with appropriate technologies (e.g. Excel); * Must also have the ability to work with a team and to take proactive action with regard to the financial aspects of the team's activities.

Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with systems specific to Mason, such as Banner, eVA, and Travel Request, would also be an asset.
