MIL currently holds several multi-year contracts with NAWCAD in the areas of Cyber, C5ISR, and Information Technology systems.

Summary

The MIL Corporation is seeking an Information Systems & Cyber Security, Senior Associate, who will serve as an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to work OCONUS supporting a Federal Government client by providing fly away support for RMF Step 3 in Sigonella, Italy, and Bahrain. The ISSE will apply systems RMF and IA principles to perform RMF step 3 hardening/scanning of network systems.

Key Duties
  • Perform security analysis of applications, systems, and enclaves for compliance with security requirements.
  • Perform ICS (Industrial Control System)/SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) IT (Information Technology) & OT (Operational Technology) cybersecurity vulnerability evaluations on computer and networking systems, to include servers, workstations, and operational technology (PLCs, DDCs, RTUs, HMIs).
  • Use a variety of security techniques, technologies, and tools to evaluate security posture in highly complex computer systems and networks.
  • Configure systems to meet cybersecurity and network requirements.
  • Gather and organize technical information about an organization's mission goals and needs as well as makes recommendations to improve existing security posture.
  • Demonstrate understanding of ICS/SCADA IT & OT Protocols such as IP/TCP, SSL/TLS, MODBUS/DNP3/PROFINET SCADA and Network Interfaces.
  • Demonstrate understanding of ICS/SCADA Cyber protections and assessments.
  • Apply updates, patches and STIGs to Windows workstations, servers, and other network equipment.
  • Configure and maintain asset inventory databases.
  • Assemble required documentation as outlined by the Lead ISSM for RMF packages.
  • Tailor security controls out of NIST SP 800-53 rev 4 for the system.
  • Develop a Security Assessment Plan (SAP) in accordance with the Navy Security Control Assessor (SCA) A&A Testing Guidance.
  • Assess security controls, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) scans in accordance with the SAP.
  • Build risk assessment report (RAR) incorporating all findings discovered in testing, and documenting an analysis of each finding.
  • Create system authorization boundary diagrams encompassing traceability back to Hardware, Firmware, Software, and Ports, Protocols and Services (PPS) lists.
  • Prepare for and conduct technical briefings at meetings with internal and external representatives.
  • Interact frequently with internal personnel and outside representatives at various levels.
  • Coordinate with field activities, obtaining statuses and providing RMF guidance

Required Qualifications
  • Must meet 8570 Workforce IAT Level II, IAM Level III preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of direct experience with IT and/or network systems support, 15 preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of direct experience with IT systems information assurance activities, five (5) preferred.
  • Training or experience in ICS and SCADA is required.
  • Experience with various information technologies, e.g., Linux, Windows, Cisco.
  • Solid working knowledge of system engineering and system architecture principles.
  • Knowledge of communication systems, LAN/WAN network architecture, network topology and protocols.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving ability.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extensive OCONUS travel required.
  • Per federal guidelines, ability to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or obtain by December 8, 2021

Desired Qualifications
  • Top Secret Clearance
  • Navy RMF experience preferred but not required.
  • CSSA (Certified SCADA Security Architect).
  • GICSP (Global Industrial Control Security Professional).
  • Certifications or experience in related information processing or network system technologies.
  • Experience with OS virtualization and SAN architectures.
  • Experience with of assessment and containment of cybersecurity incidents and interaction with CIRTs.
  • Experience with NIPR/SIPR networks.
  • Experience with HBSS, HIPS, or other cybersecurity modules.

Education

Bachelor's Degree, from an accredited college or university, in Information Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or related discipline is highly desired .
