As a Nurse Practitioner you will:
•Be expected to provide high quality, evidence-based care to in-patient and outpatient cardiac and thoracic surgery patients, and to assist cardiologists and surgeons in patient management from pre-hospitalization to discharge.
•Acts as a resource for, support to, and leader of cardiovascular resources within the hospital.
• Report directly to the Clinical Nurse Manager and independently be responsible for the safe and effective delivery of patient-centered care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Work in collaboration with Physicians, Cardiologists, Case Management, and Registered Nurses in order to improve patient outcomes and reduce hospital readmissions.
• Educate patients and family through the continuum of care while striving to advance your own knowledge and skills.
• Demonstrate professionalism, adhere to ANA standards of practice, and exemplify the Adventist HealthCare values as they fulfill our nursing mission and vision.
• Utilize equipment and technology correctly, delegate non-nursing duties appropriately to maximize efficiency and effectiveness

Qualifications include:
• Master of Science Degree with completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Program required.
• Current Maryland License
• Active American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification: active DEA/CDS
• Minimum of one year's experience as a Cardiac Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills
