Summary

This position is with the Office of Inspector General, Information Technology Division. This office is responsible for providing IT customer service support to the Office of Inspector General staff. As an Information Technology Specialist, the incumbent is expected to perform audio/video services to OIG senior executives and other OIG staff members in a high energy fast paced work environment.

Responsibilities

As an Information Technology Specialist, GS-2210-12/13, you will perform the following major duties:

Provides support to OIG executives, included but not limited to audio/video services, installation and configuration of Apple mobile devices, such as iPhones, iPads and Apple iOS applications.

Provides remote and deskside support; imaging laptops, performing data retention, supporting mobile devices, developing scripts, configuring file and printer servers, develop/draft documentation and user guides; conduct user training as needed.

Diagnoses and resolves problems in response to reported incidents; uses a wide variety of software applications, computer hardware, desktop operating systems, anti-virus software, Office suites and network client setup.

Performs IT systems security related tasks, using prescribed methods, and tools in support of cyber and information security standards.

May correspond via telecommunication devices or in person to peers, supervisors, managers, and customers; provides troubleshooting and customer support via phone, live video feeds.

Ensures rigorous application of information security/assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of technical services; notifies the unit supervisor or senior IT staff on any IT issues, problems, and concerns.

Basic Requirement:

Your resume must reflect information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. And

In addition to the basic requirements above, applicants for the GS-12 and GS-13 must meet one year of the specialized experience listed below to be considered for each grade:

Specialized Experience for the GS-12:

To qualify for the GS-12 level, you must possess at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal Service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector, performing ALL of the following:

1. Provide IT support in a high-energy, fast paced environment;

2. Provide assistance with installing, configurating and troubleshooting Apple mobile devices (iPhones, iPads, etc.) and Apple iOS applications;

3. Utilizing a variety of IT applications to include, but not limited to Windows 10, Microsoft Bitlocker, Microsoft Outlook 365, Microsoft OneDrive and the suite of Office 365 productivity applications; and

4. Communicate technical information to staff to assist with security problems issues.

Specialized Experience for the GS-13:

To qualify for the GS-13 level, you must possess at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal Service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector, performing ALL of the following:

1. Providing a variety of IT support services to a fast-paced work environment to include, but not limited to researching, evaluating, and training staff members;

2. Installing, configurating and troubleshooting Apple mobile devices (iPhones, iPads, etc.) and Apple iOS applications;

3. Utilize a variety of IT applications and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues, to include but not limited to, Windows 10, Microsoft Bitlocker, Microsoft Outlook 365, Microsoft OneDrive and the suite of Office 365 productivity applications; and

4. Applying in depth knowledge on cybersecurity concepts, principals, and standards.
