This position is located in the Radio Master Control Service at the Voice of America (VOA) in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Operate console, patching and computer related switching equipment.
  • Monitor program audio levels.
  • Identify and correct technical equipment issues; as well as notify appropriate Technical Support Branch personnel.
  • Coordinate program recording and remote source activity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Screen-out element: The screen-out elements are the critical knowledge, skills, and abilities that are essential for satisfactory job performance.
Screen-out Job Element #1 (the ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision)- is defined as the demonstrated technical ability in a radio and/or television broadcasting environment including operating equipment on a radio master control setting, switching, distribution and routing programs.
