MIL currently holds several multi-year contracts with NAWCAD in the areas of Cyber, C5ISR, and Information Technology systems.

Summary :

The MIL Corporation is seeking an Engineering, Senior Associate to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to DHS Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Acquisition (OA) Systems Engineering Division (SED) to support the development of agency enterprise plans focused on Technology Transition, Cyber Security, Risk Management and Configuration Management; assessment and implementation of Digital Engineering (DE) principles; defining the agency use and requirements for Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) resources in support of border protection.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in various meetings in support of program and project activities to include daily SED senior leadership planning and status meetings, weekly SED Division Senior Staff Meetings, CBP Chief Engineer Weekly Status Meetings, Biweekly United States Border Patrol (USBP) Mobile Portfolio review, and other as directed.
  • Support the development and implementation of Digital Engineering (DE) practices within SED business processes to include, but not limited to, review and analysis of current SED processes, review of DE tools and applications, perform a technical analysis and provide recommendations of DE tools relevant to SED, coordinate with the DHS Science & Technology (S&T) DE Project team, and conduct a DE Exemplar project to better understand the viability of digital engineering tools and techniques for improvement to SED operations.
  • Provide technical support to the Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) Project to include development of strategic goals and objectives, definition of requirements, participation in Executive Steering Committee Meetings and Technical Review Meetings, performance of PNT Threat and Risk Analysis, and other relevant project activities as required.
  • Review and provide support to establish and implement CBP Enterprise-wide Configuration Management Guidelines and practices applicable to SED projects and engineering activities.
  • Support other SED program and project activities as assigned by the SED Director and Deputy Director.
  • Maintain and complete the annual training and certifications requirements in accordance with the DHS and CBP Performance and Learning Management System (PALMS).

Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years specific work experience supporting DHS CBP Systems Engineering.
  • 15+ years overall experience with technology transfer projects associated with engineering of communications, sensors, and information technology.
  • DHS Systems Engineering Level III Certification

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience as Subject Matter Expert supporting Executive Management level.
  • 20+ years' experience in transition and application of technologies to enhance operations.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering and Master's degree in Business Administration required.

Clearance:

All applicants for this position must possess a current Secret clearance and be able to successfully complete a DHS CBP background investigation; please note that the clearance process takes into account financial background aspects.
