Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Education Specialist, Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) for our Professional Development and Practice Department, who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

The Nurse Education Specialist reports directly to the Director of Professional Development and Practice and is responsible for facilitating the professional development and lifelong learning activities of nurses to enhance their professional competence and role performance. The Education Specialist is responsible for managing overall professional development programs, providing relevant education to nurses, maintaining and enhancing clinical competence, directing the development of educational activities and planning programs that increase breadth and depth of nurses' knowledge.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Educate patients and family through the continuum of care while striving to
advance your own knowledge and skills.
• Demonstrate professionalism, adhere to ANA standards of practice, and
exemplify the Adventist HealthCare values as they fulfill our nursing mission
and vision.

Qualifications include:
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a minimum of a Bachelor's
Degree required, MSN preferred
• Valid Maryland RN license required
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and
ACLS required
• 5 years of current Clinical Specialty in Critical Care

Work Schedule:

Day shift with occasional weekends or nights to meet training needs of ICU and PCU; assist with certification for PCCN and CCRN.
