Driver/Special Assistant to the President
St. Mary’s College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary’s City is seeking a Driver/Special Assistant to the President. This position assists the Office of the President and serves as the primary driver for the President of the College. As Driver, the incumbent must have a very flexible schedule and must ensure availability to drive the President of the College when needed. This position is subject to on-call and call-in duty 24-hours a day.
Qualifications: Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, a minimum of seven years in a post-secondary environment, previous driving experience preferred, valid Maryland driver’s license, excellent driving record, and clean criminal history. Must have a very flexible schedule and required to have a phone. Knowledge of the DC, Maryland and Virginia area preferred.
The successful applicant will be subject to a criminal background check and substance abuse testing. Applicants must have basic computer skills, and have or able to obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
