The Maintenance Service Representative will support Maintenance and Repair (M&R) activities on systems/equipment deployed and fielded. The Maintenance Service Representative will coordinate, monitor, escalate and report maintenance status and operational readiness of systems in the field. The Maintenance Service Representative interacts directly with the CBP officers, and agents in the field in response to customer's requests for service.

This position requires quality communication skills and tact, to generate and understand data calls and the ability to determine and resolve data processing problems. This position applies technical knowledge primarily as it applies to equipment and maintenance tracking skills in an area like record keeping, disparate system synchronization, or maintenance scheduling.

In this position, the incumbent works independently under overall project objectives and requirements and apprises supervisor about progress and unusual complications. Guidance may come from different sources than tasking.

  • Support maintenance and repair (M&R) activities on systems/equipment once deployed and accepted.
  • Coordinate, monitor, escalate, and report on maintenance status and operational readiness of systems in the field.
  • Interaction will be directly with CBP officers, agents, and personnel in the field to respond to requests for repair status, track outages, ,and escalate unresolved system/equipment issues.
  • Coordinate maintenance issues and status with the MDC.
  • Perform follow-up on behalf of ILD operations CORs regarding inquiries made by CBP officers, agents, and personnel in the Field.
  • Provide daily status.
  • Verify work tickets for accuracy.
  • Assist in advising proper escalation paths.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to pass a CBP background investigation (required for this position)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Maximo experience is preferred and is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Non-Intrusion Inspection equipment is a plus.
  • Extensive experience in a general help desk or customer service position is desired.
  • Logistics support experience a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Must have attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • The Maintenance Service Representative will require competence in and knowledge of pertinent system software, fielded equipment both scientific and surveillant in nature and of the work protocols, and practices of the assigned subject-matter area. These will be trained or self-taught.
  • Ability to distinguish problems or issues from failures.
