The Senate Employees' Child Care Center is seeking an Assistant Teacher/Floater for immediate consideration. Applicants must have experience working with very young children or infants and possess current Child Development Associate (CDA) or equivalent of AA in Early Childhood Education. Applicants must be 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, meet federal as well as individual state requirements (i.e., TB test, physical, OSHA) and maintain credentials for the position (i.e., ongoing training). Preferred educational requirements: Masters, Bachelors or Associates in Child Development, Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child and Family Studies or related field, including Elementary Education, Special Education, or Psychology with relevant course work and possess current CDA. Unrelated Degree requirements: Masters, Bachelors or Associates and one year child development work experience in a school, kindergarten, or licensed child care/family child care setting. One supervised student teaching practicum is equal to one year child development work experience. Applicants must have demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate curriculum practice.
