The Operational Resilience team protects corporate assets from significant business interruptions by optimizing risk management and building operational resiliency. As a result of a recent regulatory requirement, Freddie Mac is required to develop and submit Resolutions plans.

Operations and Technology are key to the resolvability. A significant component of this work is to evaluate and develop strategies and understand the interconnectedness across the enterprise in supporting the business services.

The Resolution function is a new function required as a result of the regulatory requirements. The Resolution Director will be an integral player to developing the strategy for the execution and submission of the Operations & Technology components supporting the Resolution plans and will need to work closely with the Enterprise team and key partners.

*This position can be performed currently from a remote location in the U.S. but will require presence in a Freddie Mac office in the future.*

  • Identify opportunities for strategic improvement in risk mitigation and resolving business interruptions due to industry changes, natural disasters, technical crisis, new business initiatives, and/or regulatory compliance
  • Address impediments to an orderly resolution, enhance resolution and recovery planning capabilities, maximize business opportunities while minimizing capital and structural inefficiencies.
  • Develop strategies and project plan related to these remediation initiatives
  • Robust problem solving and analytical skills, with diligence and superior attention to detail to ensure internal governance standards are met, sufficient to withstand scrutiny of senior executives, Regulators and Internal Audit
  • Experience with liquidity management, financial forecasting and capital stress testing strongly desired
  • Collaborate with partners to identify enterprise risk associated with business disruption and create effective strategies for recovery within an established timelines and minimal impact.
  • Partner with divisional process owners of critical business processes to demonstrate and maintain continuity of operations.
  • Ability to influence and build strong relationships with people at varying levels across the organization


Your Impact:
  • Managing the Resolution effort for Enterprise Operations & Technology in partnership with the divisions.
  • Handling the Operations & Technology effort in support of Resolution planning. Development and implementation of an integrated framework for Resolution plans using the Operational Resilience program.
  • Partner with our Senior Operating Committee, Executive Crisis Management Team, and external consultants, regulators, business partners, in order to facilitate the successful execution and implementation of these remediation initiatives.
  • Presenting sophisticated ideas through the development of concise presentations to senior leadership and regulators is also critical.
  • As a subject matter expert, play an integral role in one of Freddie Mac's key strategic priorities, and have significant exposure to senior management.
  • Ensure the successful execution and implementation of remediation efforts for Resolution and Recovery. Ability to discern ambiguous instructions, regulator requests or guidance, and recommend appropriate course of action


Qualifications:
  • 12+ years of related experience in the primary mortgage market, secondary mortgage market, or financial industry and 4+ years of management experience
  • Professional qualification/ Master's degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of Operational Resilience and implications across the industry
  • Experience in Resolution planning is required
