Dewberry's Geospatial group is looking for a qualified Personnel Manager within our Fairfax, VA office to help oversee lidar production related tasks while leading a group of geospatial analysts. Management responsibilities include providing guidance and feedback, training, timesheet approvals, performance evaluations, as well as coaching and mentoring staff. Technical responsibilities will include generating lidar derived products, peer review and QC, disseminating workloads. The team lead will also perform final formatting reviews prior to submitting data to the Quality Management team. The team lead will report to and work closely with the topographic lidar line lead to assist with resource utilization and project prioritization.

Responsibilities

  • Working with the Topographic Product Lead to disseminate work to analyst staff amongst the teams;
  • Timesheet approvals, Performance evaluations and coaching/mentoring staff;
  • Working with other team leads to prepare data for final product development;
  • Creating initial and final data layers such as hydro flattened DEMS, intensity imagery, DZ orthos, as well as performing final visual and formatting reviews on;
  • Generating and reviewing stats;
  • Creating metadata and final reports;
  • Perform QC of analysts work and provide feedback to team members;
  • Provide Status Updates to PMs;
  • Lead weekly meetings with Analysts and PMs;
  • Identifying errors and working with the team to resolve;
  • Assigning and allocating various tasks across multiple projects to staff;
  • Data Management;
  • Working with Quality/Training Leads to provide oversight;
  • Developing and Maintaining SOPs;
  • Work with Topographic Product Line Lead and Project Managers to develop schedules and budgets, helping ensure both are maintained through the projects lifecycle;
  • Task Management;
  • Problem resolution;
  • Report writing;
  • Administer Training; provide insight, feedback, process improvement suggestions to Training/Quality/Technology teams and Topographic Product Line Lead.


Required Skills & Required Experience

  • 5 +years of experience in the GIS/Remote Sensing Field. Focused on producing and working with Topographic Lidar and other Elevation data sources.
  • Required experience in multi-sensor processing, manipulation, and production.
  • Working knowledge of LiDAR classification and DEM creation.
  • In-depth knowledge of ESRI's including ArcGIS 10x, ArcPro.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, and Access).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Mentoring, training junior GIS Analysts.
  • Terrascan, GeoCue experience a plus.
  • Experience creating terrains, DEMs, Intensity Imagery from Lidar data
  • Experience and understanding of LAS Headers
  • Experience in reviewing Survey data
  • Prior experience with Quality Assurance, documentation and providing feedback.
  • Dash Experience
  • Assigning and disseminating data to teams of analysts
  • Experience creating and finalizing intensity imagery, Dems, DZ orthos (clip, aster finalize, stats)
  • Experience finalizing extents, Breakline GDBs, Flightline index GDBs, Inter/Intraswath polygons, survey data.
  • Experience in identifying and editing errors in DEMs due to Breakline and/or Lidar issues.
  • Experience creating Metadata and final block/project reports
  • 1:2400 Editing experience
  • 1:5000 review experience
  • Unflattened Dem Reviews
  • Strong Microstation/Terrascan skills a plus
  • Weekly reporting to Topographic Product Lead and all PMs
  • Assist with Training when necessary


Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
