Manager of Training and Development

  • Assists in developing, implementing, and conducting training programs for the University.
  • Conducts and coordinates training activities;
  • Researches, writes, and creates new training materials;
  • Develops, analyzes and evaluates training requirements;
  • Consults with staff members and supervisors to keep training information current;
  • Writes reports, memoranda, correspondence, newsletters, and bulletins;
  • Develops training plans;
  • Arranges classes, seminars, conferences, and workshops for University employees;
  • Evaluates and updates training programs to keep current with new techniques;
  • Works cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
  • Conducts needs analysis studies to determine training needs within organization;
  • Confers with management to gain knowledge of specific work situations requiring the employees to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, and technologies;
  • Selects or develops teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works;
  • Conducts assessment to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training;
  • Draft policies, procedures, guidelines, and other communications as needed;
  • Works collaboratively with the Benefits Office.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.  Minimum of two (2) years of direct training experience required.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel and Word; Applicant Tracking and higher education experience preferred; PeopleSoft or an on-line integrated system required; Must have a proven track record in training; Considerable knowledge of modern training and development, including principals of adult learning, training, organizational methodology and assessment techniques; Ability to function well in a professional team environment and manage multiple priorities; Ability to develop and maintain a comprehensive employee development program; Ability to write and prepare documents using innovative techniques and styles; Excellent written and oral communication skills; Must have knowledge of the principles, training methods, and techniques used in education. Writes clearly and informatively; Presents numerical data effectively.

SALARY:  $61,278,000 - $65,000                                                              Grade:  III
