Principal Risk Specialist

Can you build relationships as well as develop and implement innovative solutions? As a Risk Specialist at Capital One you'll be responsible for working with business partners to identify and mitigate potential risks to Capital One. You will be the front line of defense to ensure our Company remains stable and profitable.

Risk Specialists are highly motivated Risk Management professionals with excellent organizational and communication skills. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and have the opportunity to work with Executives to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company.

Responsibilities:
  • Risk activities will support the Commercial line of business
  • Actively participates in team oriented efforts
  • Managing multiple tasks independently to meet deadlines
  • Coordinating work between multiple areas and working on multiple projects simultaneously; leveraging/influencing business partners to drive results
  • Completing risk event management and recovery process documentation while adhering to Enterprise Risk Management Standards
  • Initiating and executing process improvements and leveraging other team members when appropriate


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in Project or Process Management
  • At least 1 year of experience in Risk Management


Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of experience in Risk Management
  • At least 3 years of experience in Project or Process Management
  • At least 2 years of experience in Presentation/Communication
