Manager, Mainstreet Card Digital Acquisition Marketing

Capital One, one of Fortune Magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For," is looking for a strategic, proactive and data-driven digital marketer to join our U.S. Card Customer Experience marketing team to drive acquisition-focused campaigns, creative strategy and learning agendas across digital channels for our largest consumer segment, Mainstreet. In this role, the Marketing Manager will drive our expansion into new marketing channels, optimize creative and targeting to drive conversion, and lean into their marketing strategy, creative, and martech strengths to transform our approach to creative testing across channels. The ideal candidate will have proven experience developing and executing direct response marketing campaigns in digital channels including email, paid search, site, display, online video, Gmail and SEO/content. To be successful, the Manager will need to thrive working in white space, building powerful cross-functional relationships and turning analytics into actionable marketing strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Lead development and execution of a strategic acquisition marketing agenda to reach and convert more of our audience in digital marketing channels (e.g., email, paid search, display, Gmail, Yahoo Mail and content/SEO), test into optimized creative/segmentation and use martech capabilities to transform our creative testing approach
  • Synthesize research insights, marketing trends, competitive landscape, and macro external factors to identify new strategic recommendations to improve marketing and business results and Brand impact
  • Collaborate with business analyst teams to understand total business performance and build on analysis to identify new opportunities and adjust marketing/ testing strategies
  • Serve as key liaison for and collaborate with cross-functional teams including business, channel/performance marketing, product marketing, creative, legal, operations and corporate communications partners
  • Translate and communicate business intent in a directive manner that partner teams can act on
  • Partner with internal and external creative teams to build and scale Mainstreet presence from awareness to consideration and conversion across digital acquisition channels
  • Champion the brand, ensuring that all representations of Mainstreet products are in line with their respective brand personas, voice and style guides
  • Write clear and concise creative briefs, test documents, test plans and strategies, driving continued performance and optimization against KPIs across channels

  • Is able to create and operate in a systems level view of marketing
  • Understands current martech capabilities in the marketplace and is able to connect our martech capabilities to marketing possibilities across targeting, creative, and experience
  • Is a highly effective communicator and skilled relationship-builder who can influence internal decision makers with formal recommendations and informal networking
  • Is confident with interpreting analysis
  • Is able to structure analytical requests
  • Is able to combine analytics and qualitative data to form a marketing strategy and approach
  • Is able to break a strategy down into a testing plan that accelerates momentum and speed to market
  • Can manage the details of their own and a small team's multiple projects, deadlines and changing priorities, while maintaining excellent and accurate work


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience
  • At least 5 years of multi-channel digital marketing experience on client-side or agency
  • At least 5 years leading digital marketing strategy and programs
  • At least 1 year of experience managing people or managing the work of a team


Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Marketing, Business or Communications
  • At least 5 years of marketing experience in financial services or another highly regulated industry
  • At least 5 years of experience driving optimization plans and creative strategy
  • At least 5 years of experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment with a track record of effectively working autonomously and navigating ambiguity
  • At least 3 years of experience working with marketing tech platforms, including data management platforms
  • At least 3 years of management experience
