Reporting to the Associate Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, the Finance Manager is responsible for oversight and management of the financial operations, management, and reporting for Marymount Management Corporation. The Finance Manager will be responsible for accurate, timely, and efficient production of financial reports, maintenance of financial records, and creation and/or maintenance of a comprehensive set of controls and best practices to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the University’s reported financial results and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles, as well as all county, state and federal regulations. The Finance Manager will also assist the CFO and Treasurer in various projects, perform ad-hoc financial analyses and statements, aid in internal and external audits, and troubleshoot department-related issues in relation to the LLC. Performance of the duties requires excellent organization, management, analytical, communication, and reporting skills. 

 

 

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Perform financial management duties including generating financial data, compiling and submitting reports, analyzing industry trends, and assessing the financial health of the company

     

  • Prepare and present monthly financial statements, to include a statement of activity, statement of position, and analysis of the operational activity in comparison to the budget, to executive management and stakeholders

     

  • Prepare quarterly and annual account reconciliations, monitor and enforce compliance with tax and financial reporting standards and prepare cash flow forecasting

     

  • Build and drive financial analysis, processes, and controls for prices and proposals 

     

  • Advise colleagues and executive management on decisions related to the company’s finances

     

  • Create pro forma budgets and ad hoc analysis to support strategic business plans

     

  • Identifies and resolves financial, accounting, and billing issues in a timely, high-energy, manner

     

  • Demonstrates initiative in understanding the underlying business processes that generate revenue and expense numbers, and offers suggestions for improvements to drive overall performance 

     

  • Maintains confidentiality of information related to project pricing, employee compensation, acquisitions, and all other financial information deemed to be sensitive or proprietary

     

  • Establishes and maintains networks, both formal and informal, needed to present contextually appropriate financial presentations in a persuasive and confidence-inspiring manner

     

  • Consistently represents colleagues, the Division, and the University in a positive, service-oriented manner

     

  • Manages and complies with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

     

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies relevant to the industry

     

  • Perform other duties as required

     

 

 

OTHER DUTIES AND ASSIGNMENTS

 

  • Develops and presents ad-hoc financial reports and analyses to support research and decision making

     

  • Develops project and departmental briefings highlighting meaningful information to manage stakeholder expectations, change, and adoption

     

  • Ensure departmental staff compliance with necessary staff training prescribed by federal, state, and institutional regulations

     

  • Facilitate department-wide implementation and training of administrative technology and tools 

     

  • Performs other duties as assigned

     

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

Required Qualifications: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited institution in finance, accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience

     

  • Seven (5) years of relevant, progressively responsible experience in accounting and financial management; within a higher education environment is preferred

     

  • Professional experience should show a clear progression of increasing level of accounting responsibilities and technology/reporting proficiency

     

  • CPA Required

     

  • Workday Finance experience

     

  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office

     

Preferred Qualifications      

 

  • Master’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field

     

  • Professional experience in higher education or academic setting
