Job Details
The Conference Manager will manage and execute conferences to offer high quality and innovative learning experiences for association events.
Primary Responsibilities
- This role works with leadership to provide overall logistics management of conferences to include in-person, online and hybrid events.
- Responsible for information posted on website related to conferences as well as conference registration software and online registration set-up. Manages conference apps.
- Provides onsite management for conferences. Ensures setup for registration, meeting room, audio visual, and catering. Oversees and guides registration staff.
- Works with Director on exhibitor and sponsor management for conferences and serves as onsite contact when needed.
- Works with the Director in preparing annual budgets, managing accounts receivable and accounts payable related to conferences.
- Supports the management, coordination, and implementation of conference materials.
- Responsibilities include program and speaker management, and work with Program Committees.
- Oversees online abstract process including call for abstracts, set-up of application site, revision process and applicant notifications; develops abstract and poster books as needed.
- Oversees conference evaluations process for conferences. Analyzes attendee and evaluation data and reports on issues and trends.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Qualified candidates must have a bachelor’s degree, and at least three years of prior experience in conference management.
- Work experience in an association, non-profit organization is preferred.
- Must be highly organized, detail oriented, flexible, and collaborative, and have good interpersonal skills. Excellent ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Additional qualifications include strong problem-solving and self-starter skills, time management and attention to detail, project management, and strong multi-tasking capability.
