Senior Business Director - CRE Strategy, Risk and Analytics

In this role as Senior Business Director - CRE Strategy, Risk and Analytics, you will l ead a team of analysts driving the strategic reinvention of our Commercial Real Estate business.

Capital One alreadyhas a top 10 position within the US CRE banking segment but we are embarking on a path to transformthe traditional banking business model into the leading platform for national lending origination, distribution and connected banking services. This role will work directly with the head of originations to drive this transformation. Responsibilities will include driving changes to product strategies, sales enablement practices and the credit risk ecosystem. The initial transformation efforts will also evolve to include a greater reliance and integration of new technology and data capabilitiesto lead the industry on innovative approaches to meeting and anticipating evolving client needs.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Strategic leadership: Develop business strategies that will drive growth, profitability, and competitive success for Capital One in the face of shifting customer and regulatory demands

- Product: Develop and implement new product and pricing strategies for various lending products; lead product level data modeling/analytics

- Credit Risk: Drive improvements in credit performance by connecting drivers of future credit trends to historical behavior, redesigning the credit risk ecosystem and testing hypotheses using rigorous monitoring and analysis

- Execution: Manage and sequence delivery of business intent, build business requirements and execute against the product strategy. Oversee multiple projects and programs concurrently

- Partnership: Work closely with colleagues across Capital One including: IT, Sales, Operations, Finance and others to drive improvement in quality, volume, service, and profitability

- Strong business judgment, leadership and integrity: He/she should be a tenacious decision maker, able to bring a healthy, aggressive, yet responsible approach to business

- Solid people leadership experience: Ability to build and leverage the capabilities of a high-performing team, as well as business partners across the enterprise. He/she should foster innovation, drive critical decisions, hold business partners accountable, and be able to consistently deliver results

- Associate Development: Manage and develop multiple analysts. Coaching and mentoring associates with a goal of developing and retaining talent at Capital One

- Strong executive communication skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills

- Clear results orientation: display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals. He/she should be able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment

- Successful track record of thriving in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment. Previous consulting experience is a plus

Responsibilities:
• Develop strategic frameworks to frame business problems
• Generate hypotheses to drive insight

• Manage up to 7 people

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree in any quantitative field (business, math, economics, finance, statistics, science, engineering)
• At least 2 years of experience in Credit risk
• At least 2 years of experience in People management
• At least 2 years of experience in Strategic consulting
• At least 2 years of experience in Quantitative analysis
• At least 2 years of experience in Business development

Preferred Qualifications:
• Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Engineering, Management or Finance
• PMP, CFA, FRM, CPA
• 5+ years of experience in Credit Risk
• 5+ years of experience in People management

• 3+ years of experience in commercial banking or commercial real estate
