Technical Payables Consultant - Commercial Card

The Technical Payables Consultant is a critical partner for our product and sales teams in delivering a positive client experience with our payables services. In this role, sales team members will rely on you to be able to understand how a prospect uses their ERP "Enterprise Resource Planning" and general tech infrastructure as well as how our product could fit. You will also be able to consult on best practices for both their systems and processes, should they choose to become a Capital One customer. When speaking with clients, you're listening and documenting any unique requirements to proactively take to our implementation and product partners. You will also be documenting best practices learned and opportunities for technical improvements. This role will partner with our sales and onboarding resources, while also working with the Capital One tech resources in creating a positive client experience.

To successfully fulfill the responsibilities of the role, you can communicate highly technical details to non-technical prospects and clients. You understand there is no "one-size-fits-all" solution, but are able to consult with our clients' technical people on how their Procure to Pay Process and systems can be used to limit the overall amount of change to the end user experience. This will require consulting on how to set up an account, their AP process and the reconciliation of a new payables solution.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who can learn to bridge the human-technology understanding gap. As part of the team, you'll grow your understanding of the myriad Accounting Systems in the market, help guide development priorities, and identify which products might work with which solutions. This team is always learning new things, and sharing it with others to constantly improve internal and client processes.

At this time, there is no travel, but when it is considered reasonably safe to travel, there may be up to 30% travel to client sites.

Capital One is open to hiring a Remote Employee for this opportunity.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Associate degree
  • At least 2 years of experience supporting clients on a cloud-based platform that interacts with a client's ERP or at least 2 years of experience implementing clients on a cloud-based platform that interacts with a client's ERP

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in ERP based consulting
  • At least 2 years of experience as a technical resource or at least 2 years of experience as a consulting resource
  • At least 1 year of experience in Business Intelligence or at least 1 year of ETL development experience
  • Familiarity of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)

At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
